A 1944 A-11 Closely Re-edited
We've gotten as close as we could to the original 1944 A-11 we purchased as a benchmark. You'll notice that our Type 44 and, the vintage A-11 do not have a second hand counter-balance. A-11s originally did but ours had its own broken off during its lifetime. A mark of its age, we decided to keep that lack of counter-weight for absolute authenticity.

Rec Spec - OG Sunray
Description
The Rec Spec OG Sunray is truly the closest homage we’ve done to the MACV-SOG watches of the 60s. Featuring a fluorescent green hue on the indexes & hands, we’ve used the Super-Luminous Green to mimic the original radioactive Tritium paint that the 1967 version used. Furthermore, we’ve gone for a dress-watch dark-gray sunray dial. Intuitively, this kind of shiny dial finish shouldn’t have been on a field watch. It seems, pretty obvious that the original MACV-SOG watches were meant to be dress watches and not field watches. And its that story that we found worth telling through our re-edit.
The 38mm case size combined with the 4-Hour integrated crown placement provides excellent wearability in all conditions - whether in or off the field. The integrated crown design also serves to protect it from getting pulled out inadvertently while reducing the overall wrist presence.
Powered by a workhorse NH36 Seiko movement with 39-hours of power reserve, hacking & a day-date complication just like the original 1960s versions.
